
January 4, 2010 - around 160 Nursing students of the NCF Nursing and Health Services Department opened the year with a seminar of Typhoon Tracking. The training was just timely to opened the year with much challenges in Typhoon Preparedness. Since the January - March period is seen as a month of less number of typhoon to hit Philippines, it is also the perfect time to focus our endevour to preparedness.
Mr Typhoon, David Michael V. Padua - TPC Director was main speaker to the seminar. He discussed topics on basic Understanding of Tropical Cyclones and intro to Typhoon Tracking. Duringthe seminar, materials and tracking charts were distributed. It was excpected that the seminar will give Nursing student a wider perspective in taking care of clients during and before disaster would happen.
The seminar is part of the \" Track the Storm Project \" which NCf-TPC has launch later last year, withthe aim of integrating storm tracking and typhoon preparedness in the school curricullum and developing the skills in tracking typhoon among NCF students. The seminar was made possible throughthe effort of the NHSD department headed by Dean Ma. Concepcion T. Aslor and its 4th Year Graduating student as part of their Social Integration activity.
