
The Typhoon Preparedness Center is a regional local warning center based in Bicol region that was created with the purpose of contributing to disaster risk reduction and management through early warning in the region. In April of 2009, the center was launched after a year of preparation and consultation among various stakeholder in the province of Camarines Sur.
VISION
TYPHOON PREPAREDNESS CENTER envisions a safer community with proactive Bicolanos equipped with scientific knowledge and committed to the protection of the environment and disaster risk reduction.
Mission
To contribute to the social development of Bikol through environmental protection and disaster mitigation by:
1. Providing weather and flood warnings through its weather station and flood watch program.
2. Raising the awareness of the Bicolanos in Disaster Risk Management
3.Organizing and Strengthening the capacities of the communities
4. Facilitate exchanges of ideas through knowledge sharing of information
5.Promoting scientific researches and activities on disaster and environmental protection.

Reduce vulnerability of Bicolano communities
Integrate Disaster preparedness among stakeholder such as the community, private sector, academic institution, media manifested in their action plans and programs
Developed more knowledge on disaster management through conduct of scientific researches.
Encourage multisectoral partnership and teamwork in typhoon disaster risk management
